The one thing I wish I did was glue speaker grill cloth, screen, something to keep crap from falling on the speakers. I wanted to cut the dash top and nip it in butt. Still waiting for my heater core to fail.

The dash comes out fairly quickly. It's a few phillips screws along the windshield and some 10mm bolts on the bottom, after you get the cluster out. If you have tilt wheel, you can get the cluster out without even dropping the steering column. You just loosen the 2 15mm mounting nuts until you can slide the cluster out.

Facing the same thing on my 94 G20 high top. I'll probably reroute to larger speakers elsewhere than the dash.
