Hi guys, just got my 84 vandura g2500 out of storage and i was checking out all the stuff i want to do to it this year. I need to adjust the gap around the two swing out side doors because the top corner of the rear swing out door is so close to the body it chipped the paint. Has anyone done this? I hope my description worked, ill post some pictures when i get a chance

To adjust in and out, you loosen the bolts on one hinge at a time and adjust accordingly.

To adjust side to side is a little more complicated. You have to bend the door slightly for this adjustment.

To widen the gap on the hinge side, place a short piece of 2X4 over the hinge bolts, close the door as much as you can and push on it. Don't overdo it.

Narrowing the gap on the hinge side is, again, bending the door. Remove the strap that stops the door from fully opening. This takes much more care. Wrap a 2X4 in a towel or three. Place it near the hinge on the outside. Open the door until it hits the 2X4. Push against it, being careful not to bend the body instead of the door.

You will most likely need to adjust the in and out after either side to side adjustment and each adjustment can affect the other hinge and even the other door. You can also adjust some things at the center of the door opening, by adjusting the strikers that grab and hold the door shut.

Make sure if you've ever removed these doors that you re install them with the weight off the doors and the hinges if you don't they will mount too low then when you go to close them they will hit the rubber stops on the bottom and V the middle tops open thus pushing the outer edges into the body. Check this 1st before you bend anything. I put 2 sets of doors on my 65 before I figured out this problem.
