I know 73-87 were all the same but will the rearend/leaf springs, spindles and front coil springs ftom a 96 1500 van (full size, not astro) bolt into a 79 G10?

If you are talking about the 1996 style that is the same as the 95 and older then yes they should bolt in. If you are talking about the newer Express style which came out in 1996, then No, I do not think they will bolt in.

Same style. I bit the bullet and bought the parts. The spindles were from a 67-87 c10 (CPP CP4S4), coils were Beltech 4700's, rear end was a rebuilt 10 bolt with posi out of the 96 van. The only thing that didn't work in my 79 were the dearched leaf springs from the 96. They are 2 1/2" too long. I could have drilled new forward holes but there would not be what I felt was sufficient (safe) room between the edge of the hole and the edge of the material.
I will just take the van to the local spring shop and have them make up some new dearched springs.

So the rear end was the right width for the spring perches?

Yes, bolted right in with no mods to the drive shaft. E brake cables are not the same and the brakes went from 11"x 2" to 11" x 2 3/4".
