I guess one is battery constant hot, the other is switch so it doesn't draw at all times.

Here is another thing the guy told me and I quote

"if you add a second power source, and connect the yellow memory wire to this, the voltmeter can read 0-99.9 Volts"

Now what does that mean? What difference does that do to what I want?

Connected the mini fridge to the aux battery. Going to leave it on overnight to see how much it drains the battery in this extremely hot day/night weather. Maybe I'll just leave it for a few hours and check on it later tonight.

I know people love to believe that battery voltage is directly related to battery state of charge, and it is, but only after the battery has been resting for several hours and its voltage has rebounded.

And way too many people believe the generic chargts saying 12.8= 100% and 12.2= 50% but different batteries are different.

My Northstar AGM has a fully charged resting voltage of 13.06v. 12.8v on this battery is about 85% charged.

The only real way to determine how much a device is consuming is with a amp hour counter, which requires a shunt.

I use some of these for recording energy consumption over a period of time:

https://www.amazon.com/GT-Power-Analyzer-Consumption-Performance/dp/B00C1BZSYO

These have their limits with only 12awg wire, but would work fine on a fridge.

Here is mine on my Vitrifrigo c51is:

Went for short 15 minutes drive tonight. No A/C and it's %99.9 air humidity this time of the year. Opened the front A pillar vents and man those things really turbo charge fresh air right into your face as you drive along. Why aren't they on cars anymore?? They should be.

I'm always driving with those open, even in the winter. Stupidest decision to remove them.
