Bought my 1993 G20 in May of 2003 while living in the Oklahoma panhandle. She had 136,000 miles on her and a hole in the block. But she was a Texas truck and very clean. [Linked Image]

My son, who was 8 at the time, and I put a new 4.3l in her and she has been our vacationing wheels every since! We rolled her over to 200,000 miles doing a route 66 cruise in 2009 just west of Winslow AZ. 90% of the miles we have put on her have been vacationing. Lac Laronge fishing trip. Glacier, Yellowstone, Teton. A trip to Alabama. Numerous camping trips. She's not as clean as she once was but still our favorite!

This photo was in Teton in 2010. Since then, we have had to take the running boards off because they were beginning to create rust.

Now it is time to put some new life back into the old girl! She's finally getting the v-8 she's always needed. Over 250,000 miles now. The 4l60e was replaced this summer with a Hughes Performance 700r4 in expectation of the 350 that is waiting on the engine stand. 1995 roller 350 with a mild cam. More than likely will go with a Mega Squirt ecu. The self learning bolt on tbi's are simpler but don't have ignition control.

The 4.3l was marginally adequate in Oklahoma but the last 11 years in Wyoming have shown its limitations. Just can't get in a hurry!

Looking forward to sharing the build with y'all and getting to know some of you good folks!

Thanks for the kudos! I like the headlights on the '93. I am looking to upgrade the interior as well as the drive train. The gladiator customs are still in good condition, just ready for something different. Need to look around the site and see if there is anything I like. If I ever add another van to the fleet, it would be a late 60's flat nose. cool

Nice van. We have a '93 shorty conversion w/4.3 as well. Not a hot rod for sure.

That's a nice tent also, BTW.
