I have been looking for a new bumper for my 1990 G30. The most common heavy duty bumpers that I have seen on older vans are custom fabricated. I talked to a guy at a local off-road store and he said that the 1987 and below model of the K30/C30 truck bumpers might fit since they have a very similar assembly style. I looked at a couple of 1987 K30 bumper diagrams and looked at my G30 diagram and they seemed very similar.

The guy at the shop showed me this as an example of what should fit. But if this fits, other K30 bumpers should too.

Any truth to this?

I'm just looking for some more meat on the front.

Man, it's like you are reading my mind. I'm paying close attention to this thread as well...also a rear bumper in my case.

Did a little photoshopping to get an idea of how it would come out and I like what I see. I'm going to save up and see what I can come up with.

I'm not sure what you've got cooking, but I have a similar van (G20 Beauville, 86) and Hickey Enterprises makes old school push bars/brush guards. $300. I've decided to go with one of those to keep the period correct look. But again, I don't know what your plans are for it. I think it would be cool and useful to have a winch on the one you photoshopped....

*I don't know about bumper fitment, but I know a lot of different k30/c30 stuff fits our vans from that era.

So I ended up pulling the plug and buying an Iron Cross bumper for an '87 Chevy Truck and having a local shop fab some brackets to fit my van and this is what I got!
Looking to get a 12k Smittybilt winch for it and still deciding on what fog lights to put in the slots since they're a tad smaller than 4". Might just get a set of the square pods and throw them in. Anybody have a preference between steel or synthetic rope? The synthetic is significantly lighter and I'm considering that.

On the plus side, adding the weight of the bumper makes it ride smoother with the HD Springs I put on it!

This looks good! Do you have any more pics of how it fits? Did the van body match well to the truck bumper? Would love to see some more details. Im in the process of fitting a 12k winch to the from of my '77 and would love if this route made sense for me.
